Contains the following types of materials: photographs, negatives. Covers the following war: Philippine Insurrection. Contains photographs of the following military units: 27th U.S. Infantry Regiment, 10th U.S. Infantry Retiment, 1364th Company, Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.). General description of the collection: The A.C. Cron photograph collection includes photographs which deal with Cron's service with the 27th Infantry from its inception in 1901 at Plattsburg Barracks, New York, through its deployment and tenure in the Philippines through 1904. Cron was a better-than-amateur photographer and all of the photos of this early period and many others were taken by him. Some of the subjects in the Philippines are of the Inaugural Parade for Governor General William H. Taft in 1903, scenes in Mindanao from February 8, 1902, to March 9, 1903, natives and their way of life and the various activities of Company M, 27th Infantry. Photos of his service at Fort George Wright, Washington, and then Fort St. Michael, Alaska, during the 1904-1908 period deal with both military, family, and social life. Cron went to Panama during 1911-1912 and took numerous photos there of the building of the Canal. Some photos cover the remainder of his career, the last one being of the 1364th Company, C.C.C., Petersburg, Virginia in 1938.

Anton Caesar Cron was a member of the United States Military Academy (USMA) Class of 1903, but a non-graduate. However, he received an appointment to 2nd lieutenant in 1904 serving with the 10th United States (U.S.) Infantry and made the Army his career.
